About the Games
The 4th Winter Youth Olympic Games will take place in the province of Gangwon in the Republic of Korea from January 20th – February 2nd 2024.
The vision of the Gangwon Games is to let the youth celebrate peaceful coexistence and unity through sport to create a better future together. The aim is to drive positive change and social unity in the region, impacting society in the areas of sport, culture and education.

Lucia Georgalli
Snowboard
Lucia learnt to ski when she was seven years old at Cardrona Alpine Resort. Her older brother Oscar was a snowboarder, so Lucia quickly swapped to snowboarding and from then she was hooked.
After a few seasons partaking in the local school skiing and snowboarding programme, Lucia joined the Cardrona High Performance Centre, having a breakthrough season in Europe in 2022/23, where she claimed a third place finish at the hotly contested LAAX European Cup Premium Slopestyle competition. She followed this result up with the win at the World Rookie Tour snowboard slopestyle finals.

Snowboard
Snowboard is one of the newer events on the Winter Olympic programme, having been first included at the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano, Japan. But despite having only featured at six editions of the Games, snowboard has become one of the most popular and exciting sports at the Winter Olympics.
There are 11 events in the snowboard competition at Beijing 2022, including mixed team snowboard cross, which will be making its Winter Olympic debut after featuring at the Winter Youth Olympic Games.
