Richie Patterson

Richie will be the first weightlifter to represent New Zealand at four Commonwealth Games. By games time Richie will have been competing in weightlifting for 20 years and hopes to defend his title as the men's under 85kg weightlifting champion.

He also competed in the Rio 2016 Olympic Games placing 15^th.

In 2017 Richie won the National Weightlifting Championships and placed second at the 2017 Oceania Weightlifting Championships.

Richie Patterson and his wife Pip spend their time training, running a weightlifting/crossfit facility in Auckland and raising their son Cooper.
