Oscar is a 17-year-old
student of Westlake Boys' High School that will be competing in Badminton at the Buenos
Aires 2018 Olympic Youth Games.
Career highlight: North Harbour International Singles title (first senior international title). Oceania Junior Champion back to back (2015 and 2017)
How did you get into your sport? My parents played and I was always at the badminton hall from a young age. I started playing when I was 4.
What do you love about the sport? It's an exciting game that involves many different aspects – agility, stamina and power and you can meet people from all over the world.
What inspires you? I want to perform well for my family and friends, but most importantly myself. I want to be satisfied and know at the end of the games I did my best and I have no regrets. I want to eventually go to the Olympic Games and perform well on the world stage.
