EVENT: Cycling – Men's Road Race

The Aucklander has been one of the country's most impressive road cyclists and a professional for more than a decade. He has five podiums on the European tour, including a top-10 on a stage of the Tour de France. He has ridden in three Grand Tours. Smith joined Hincapie Racing in 2014, and then Pro Continental team ONE Pro Cycling in 2016.

He was picked up by Wanty-Groupe Gobert for two years before his jump to the UCI World Tour with Mitchelton-Scott, where he remains with the team known as Team BikeExchange-Jayco.
