EVENT: Squash: Women's Doubles
Squash player Amanda Landers-Murphy is a two-time Commonwealth Games gold medallist having won the women's doubles alongside teammate Joelle King at the Birmingham 2022 and Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games.
The pair also won back-to-back world doubles championships in 2016 and 2017.
Landers-Murphy is the foil to Joelle Kings power with a deft left-handed touch and precise angles. She has kept herself in touch with singles events in New Zealand was looking in line for a world doubles title with King before the latter had to withdraw at semi-final stage of the World Champs in Glasgow in 2022.
Landers-Murphy also competed in women's singles and mixed doubles at Gold Coast 2018. At the Glasgow Commonwealth Games in 2014 she recorded two 5th placings and a 26th.
The Rotorua local is of Taranaki and Te Ati Awa descent.
